About BBD's Host: Janet Bussell-Eriksson

With over 18 years of experience in the Interior Design and Building Industry Janet brings a wealth of knowledge to the Quad-City Area. As a college educated Interior Designer she graduated at the top of her class from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1992 and then set out to hone her skills as a Project Manager; Construction Consultation and later obtained her general contractor's license in California when her career took her from the East Coast to the West Coast. While working in California Janet had the opportunity to participate in and appear on a few episodes of HGTV's Designer's Challenge as well as TLC's "Faking It" series. Janet moved to Prescott full time in 2006 after she met and married Dan Eriksson who has been a resident of Prescott for almost 16 years. Upon moving to Arizona, Janet obtained her Arizona Residential General Contractor's license ROC233985 []. She is also a member of the Yavapai County Contractor's Association. From time to time Janet has been a guest on AZTV's AM Arizona with Tonya Mock and Lew Rees as well as the locally produced home improvement radio show "We've Got You Covered" with hosts Sally and Roger Barton of Badger Roofing which airs every Saturday on AM1490.
If you ask Janet what some of her favorite projects have been in her career thus far she'll tell you those where the client likes to participate in the planning and selection process. "I feel that your environment {whether home, office or business} needs to be a reflection of your personality and lifestyle and truly the only way you can achieve this is to work with a professional who will help to guide you in the right direction to ensure that you are "Building by Design"; not by chance. Janet further maintains that projects should be undertaken with a purpose; not solely on a whim and she felt that by producing a local TV program that can help to educate the community as a whole with regard to design, construction, planning and aesthetic issues while making known all of the wonderful trades, craftsmen, talent and professionals available in our own backyard would promote awareness while also helping to take away some of the "unknown" when venturing forward in a remodeling project or new construction.
